Here’s an introductory guide to Operative, for more in-dept information and gaming insights, check out this SWTOR Operative Guide.
Some forewarnings, this is not the desired class for those seeking flashy characters or weapons attacks. The Operative has no lightsaber or access to the powers of the Force. However, the Operative is superior in attacks where positioning and tactics are key, and is a formidable PvP opponent.
The Operative is a one man army, able to use the cover of darkness and stealth techniques to eliminate enemies from close range or from a distance. They can also use their knowledge of cutting-edge medical technologies to keep their comrades healthy enough to continue fighting. Able to quickly identify and match the needs of any situation, the Operative reacts with lightning speed and deadly efficiency.
With regards to specific abilities, the Operative can unleash a high-damage Backstab ability for use in close range stealth assassinations, or a Shiv ability to use in face-to-face scenarios. The Operative also possesses a poison-over-time ability that can used to cover his tracks or draw suspicion to another. The self-heal function can also be used to counter any damage incurred while on a mission.
The motivation of the Imperial Operative is professional perfection. Although it is highly unlikely that they will ever come anywhere near the upper region of Imperial society, it is enough for them to know that they represent the ideal of a supreme soldier to all citizens loyal to the Empire, and their commitment to that ideal is what keeps them going in the field whether they are alone or with other Operatives. Protection of the Empire is everything.
